Big Bay Coast Area Council

Establishment and Development
The Aniwa Area Council (AC) was established in 1981. Initially, our operations were conducted from a semi-permanent building that served as the Area Council office. In 2009, construction began on a new, more permanent office building, which was completed in 2010. This new facility has greatly improved our capacity to serve the community.
Official Opening
The new Aniwa Area Council office building was officially opened by Honorable Nakou Natuman, President of the Tafea Provincial Government. This marked a significant milestone in our journey towards enhanced local governance and community development.
Our Objectives
Aniwa Area Council has set ambitious goals for the next 3-5 years, focusing on:
- Improving local infrastructure, including roads and community buildings.
- Enhancing educational facilities and resources.
- Expanding healthcare services and ensuring better access for all residents.
- Promoting sustainable development and environmental conservation.
