East Malo Area Council
The Area Council was given the name Natamata East Malo Area Council in 2010 during the opening of the area council permanent office building and an acquire land of 2 hectors. The initiative to set up the office base and the acquired land was done successfully by the sanma former president hon. Thomas Vora on behalf of East Malo citizens.
Population
East Malo area council consists of 12 communities plus 60 small station or villages. The total population is about 3,000 plus with more than 500 households
Council members
The area council permanent office is located at Ambakura community. The East Malo Area council members consists of an Area Administrator employed by Vanuatu public service commission, the Area secretary or Community liaison Officer employed by the sanma provincial government, chief representative as chairman, church rep, women rep, youth rep, business rep and disability rep.
Health
The East Malo Area council has only 1 health center base at Amapelao community with 1 nurse, 1 aid nurse + 1 mid wife. 1 Dispensary located at Ataripoe community and 2 Aid post at Genesis community and Tapunveresake community.
Education
East Malo area council has 1 secondary school – Nandiutu Junior secondary school. 5 primary schools, 6 pre-school with both temporary and qualified teachers employed by the government. Only 1 franglophone primary school at Ambakura community.
Infrastructure
2 network tower digicel at Genesis community and Vodafone at alowaru community and still poor network coverage in east malo.

Transportation
Main means of transportation are small boats and 4wd vechicles.
