South Santo Road Upgrade
Essential upgrades to the South Santo Road are moving ahead with the completion of a work camp and the arrival of heavy machinery to carry out the first package of works to renew and repair bridges. This is the first of three works packages envisaged under the project.
The World Bank is financing US$112.8 million Vanuatu Climate Resilient Transport Project (VCRTP), led by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities (MIPU). The project will upgrade and repair the 65-kilometer South Santo road on Espiritu Santo to make it more resilient against the impacts of climate change and natural disasters.
