Area Administrator Forum 2025
After an incredible and productive 3-day forum, Hon. Minister of Internal Affairs expressed heartfelt thanks to all Area Administrators and stakeholders for their active participation and commitment.
This first-ever Area Administrators Forum was a historic milestone for local governance in Vanuatu:
DAY 1: Area Administrators highlighted success stories and challenges from their Area Councils, and shared valuable experiences across provinces.
DAY 2: Panel discussions with key government ministries focused on aligning work plans with decentralization and service delivery goals.
DAY 3: AAs explored their evolving roles and responsibilities to better support communities.
Hon. Minister also emphasized:
- Strengthen collaboration between Area Councils, Provincial sectors & NGOs
- Align local planning with national goals under a “One Plan, One Budget” approach
- Improve service delivery through shared resources and community profiling
- Build capacity, recruit skilled officers, and support rural development
- Stay connected, share best practices, and be agents of change in your communities
